Hurry Up and Eat Your Glyphosate! – Or Be Wise and Avoid It

Glyphosate is one of the most widely used chemicals in the world.  Your food and beverages are loaded with it, some more, some less. Organic food a lot less, by the way. Glyphosate, the primary ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup(TM) is clearly linked to a depressingly large variety of  human and environmental health problems.

Undeterred, Monsanto and its USDA and FDA minions make no effort to curb its use.

In fact, GMO crops are modified specifically to withstand the INCREASED use of this toxic material – that’s why Monsanto, and now Bayer, calls them “Roundup Ready”.

I do not want to consume poison so I avoid glyphosate like the biological plague that it is. One of the best tools I have for that, other than restricting myself to organic foods exclusively (at least when I am at home, which is a whole lot of the time, right now) is the Glyphosate Database from the Institute for Responsible Technology.

Are they reliable? I believe you can trust what they say and regard them highly. Is Roundup really in our food? Oh, yes! The US has applied 1.8 million tons of it since then while around the world, enough roundup to spray almost half a pound on every cultivated acre of land in the world has been sprayed: a staggering 188,000,000 pounds,
Genetically modified crops are modified specifically to stay alive when sprayed with chemicals and Roundup is the leader in resistance modification: global glyphosate use has risen 15-fold since Roundup Ready GMO crops were introduced.

Glyphosate, the main active ingredient in the notoriously toxic herbicide Roundup(TM) human hazards include cancer,  including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, , fertility and reproductive damage, liver damage, endocrine disruption, genotoxicity, spontaneous abortion, fetal abnormalities and a host of other dangers.  The environmental impact is no less devastating.
