Former TEPCO Bosses to Face Trial, $8000 US Fine in First Ever Legal Consequence of Massive Nuclear Disaster March 11, 2011

Tokyo Electric Power Company, reviled around the world as TEPCO, owns the stricken nuclear power station Fukushima Daiichi (or Fukushima Number 1) as well as other power stations around Japan. Although two government panels have called for the prosecution of former top TEPCO executives for professional negligence, the first call was ignored.  This time, however, ex-TEPCO chair Tsunehisa Katsumata and former vice presidents Sakae Muto and Ichiro Takekuro were charged with professional negligence over allegedly failing to take measures to protect the plant, despite being aware of elevated tsunami risks.

160,000 people were permanently evacuated, massive amounts of radiation continue to be added to the Pacific Ocean daily and life on the entire planet is threatened by their negligence.  A full investigation may be conducted for the first time now that the charges have been brought.

Inadequately designed and deceptively Fukushima Daiichi’s six nuclear reactors are not threatening world survival with enormous human and environmental consequences felt round the world.

While media around the world has lost interest in Fukushima, the dangers only mount.  A special Dr. Rima Truth Reports report, Fukushima: Where Are We, What Lies Ahead?  4 hour live-stream marathon on March 9, 2011 at 4 PM will bring together experts from around the world, including Ambassador Murata, to ask, and answer, those questions.
